DENTAL TECHNOLOGY

Our Technology

Technology within the dental practice is expanding rapidly and it's often hard for us to know which are gimmicks and which are not. The equipment that we choose to use in our practice has been researched and tested by many clinicians. The benefits have been proven.

Aceton Soprolife Camera - Soprolife Camera is a new imaging fluorescence device aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of dental decay (caries), allowing the dentist to differentiate healthy from infected tissue in order to excavate only the tissue which is diseased. Soprolife is the only concept in the world which offers two types of vision- daylight and fluorescence. Daylight enables the dentist to use the intraoral camera in white light which allows the patient to see what the dentist sees. In fluorescence mode it greatly assists in the detection of early tooth decay and enables the dentists to provide more appropriate treatment for patients. With filtered light the tooth's damaged areas are far more obvious.

Cone Beam 3D Computed Tomography - is a type of radiograph commonly referred to as a Cat Scan. This is a type of radiograph that gives a 3 dimensional view of the area to be examined. It is used to identify pathology and anatomical features required for more complex dental treatment eg: aiding in assessing and planning for placement of dental implants. The unit provides a view of the mouth, the sinuses in the upper jaw, the temporomandibular joints (TMJ) and neck region with very high resolution. The best part of all is that the cone beam technology exposes the patient to a very minimal dose of radiation.

CariFree™; detecting dental caries - The term dental caries is more commonly known as tooth decay and it's tooth decay which leads to the occurrence of cavities. The latest development in the fight against decay is the CariFree™ system, a simple, non-invasive screening and treatment programme.

Microscope - One of the most important aspects of dental care at Broadway Dental Centre is early detection and treatment of potential problems. We utilise the leading microscopic technology as part of your preventative care and treatment. This enables our team to precisely examine your teeth and perform operations at a microscopic level.

When using high magnification during procedures, we are able to see microscopic details that are impossible to visualise with the naked eye or loupes (magnification glasses). Microscopic dentistry enables a clinical precision in dental care that is exceptional in every respect.

Even though you brush and floss daily, limit sugary foods and drinks and regularly visit our team for check-ups, you might still be at risk of developing cavities. This is due to cavities being a consequence of a bacterial infection that is now known to be the result of a biofilm disease.

Intra Oral Camera - Using an intra oral camera we are able to see exactly what is happening in your mouth. When the camera is being used inside your mouth, the images will be shown on a screen so we can explain areas that we are looking at, any problems and what treatment is required.

Digital Radiography - With digital radiography an X-ray becomes an instant procedure. The radiation levels are kept at a minimum and we are able to view smaller areas with the use of the latest computer technology.

OPG Panoramic digital X-ray - Taking only a few seconds, the OPG machine will scan your entire profile by traveling in a semi-circle motion around your face. This will produce a full panoramic image of your mouth. This detailed x-ray is used for treatment planning for periodontal disease, complicated restorative procedures, dental implants and removal of wisdom teeth. Having an OPG machine within our practice allows us to provide you with a more convenient appointment as you no longer have to be referred to a radiography centre for X-rays.

iTero Digital ImpressionsiTero Digital Impressions - One of the more recent and significant changes to the Invisalign process is the introduction of digital scanning techniques, as an alternative to submitting PVS impressions. Digital scans provide a more accurate dental record, allowing us to make even more precise plans for your Invisalign treatment.
